At our new apartment our backyard backs up to a little foresty area so to our delight we get to experience wildlife in the city. We have had a mom racoon and her 3 babies visiting us a lot and then one day we look out and there is a momma deer and a fawn. It was really neat but they are so stinkin skiddish. We also have at least 5 different cats that like to hang out on our back wall as well. Carter enjoys feeding the babies although I know that is a guaranteed way to have annoying pests who will never leave us alone, but they are so cute!

Wal-Mart Remodel
So I shop at wal-mart. I put up with the creepos and not as well kept up areas in order to get low prices. Maybe one day when we have money I will move on up to safeway or Albertson's but for now I really don't mind the craziness. I just make sure that I go during the day so that I'm safe and sound. However, with all that said, our Wal-Mart has been doing a remodel for the past month, and it will be going on for another month and it is soooooooooooo confusing. I go at least once a week and everytime I go I have to wander around for ages to find what I'm looking for. Or when I think I know where something is rearranged at it moves again. In all, it's worth it for the cheap prices...just thought I would whine a little =)

Vacation Bible School
Vacation Bible School was July 7-10th in the pm. I was in charge of it this year which was really nerve wracking and a lot of stress, especially since I set the dates of it a little over a week from us getting back from camp. Probably a bad idea but it had to be done! AFter begging for volunteers, a lot of stress, a few tears, and a lot of prayer VBS was a success!! I was thinking that I would be happy if we had like 15 kids, but we were prepared for 30. God answered us fully and we averaged about 30 kids every night. Total we had 37 register which was awesome!!! Our theme was Wildwood forest where we explored the "wild" side of God. We learned about the battle of Gideon on Tuesday night. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abendego and the fiery furnace on Wednesday. And finally the birth of Jesus on Thursday. We had stations which was great. On friday we had closing assembly followed by a BBQ complete with a jump house. It was a great experience over all and now I'm better prepared for next year!

Weekend of the Fourth
Well we got internet up in our apartment two days ago so I figured it was time to finally get on here and blog. Our move is pretty much complete we just need to go to the house now, pull out some last minute stuff, and then clean that sucker good!
But for now I'm going to put up some pictures of last weekend. My Dad, Mom, and brother came down for the first time since we moved here and it was the first visit for my dad. It was great having them come visit us and see what life is like for us here. On Friday night we went to the fireworks put on by the casino here and then on the fourth we went to downtown Bandon to look around and of course had to stop at BAndon Dunes Golf course for my dad who dreams about golfing there. Then Carter grilled us some burgers while my dad tried to figure out how to get our satellite television to work here (which he finally did after a lot of patience). It's great that it now works because it saves us a lot of money!!!! Then we played a rousing game of phase 10 and just hung out and enjoyed quality time together.
On sunday it was my birthday so I opened presents before church and then we all went to service together which was so nice! Unfortunately my parents had to leave right after church so after a sad goodbye Carter and I went to a birthday lunch for me. Thanks to everyone for the birthday wishes and money!! I enjoyed a nice shopping trip for a very much needed wardrobe update!

How Can a recap a week in one post??
Delano Bay Christian Camp turned out amazing!!! To explain it all would take days so I'm going to try to make a quick recap and then you can click on the below link to check out pictures on facebook which will be much faster then me posting them ALL here.
On Saturday was our river rafting trip which although the bus ride was eternally long, the rafting part was amazing and although my boat wasn't stacked with all the big people, and the girls didn't want to work too hard it turned out well. There was one rapid that wasn't too major so our guide told people that a few could ride the front of the boat while a few others could get in the water and ride them with their bodies. I was debating on getting in the water when I decided that you only live once so I jumped in and did the waves which was kinda like riding the ocean waves. The only problem was that my body was frozen numb halfway through even in my wet suit and then I had to swim back to the boat while they came to me, but with the current going the other way, the only problem was that although I was swimming my hardest I was only breaking even with the current and it felt like I would never get back to my boat.
During the week my co-counselor Elizabeth and I prayed that God would use us in whatever way he wanted and he answered that prayer less then 24 hours later. (note to self, whatch what you pray for). There was a big situation with one of the girls in our cabin that I got to deal with and help her find God for answers and thorough a lot of tears and prayers and me feeling inadequate enough to help her, he used me to help be a part of her baptism and acceptance of God's eternal love for her. It's just crazy to find how God works in your life and how that may have been part of my whole purpose for being at camp this week.
Dennis, the director of camp did a great job of keeping the camp both fun and spiritual and it was already an emotional week by wednesday. The kids really felt God moving in the camp and through them this week and it was a big inspiration that both Carter and I needed. The singing was so uplifting and being surrounded by godly, fun-loving, teens was something I wish I was surrounded by every day!
By Friday we were running low on sleep but we both got volunteered into helping with SEnior night which is an all night thing, so we didn't sleep at all on Friday which made cleaning day on Saturday so much worse for us and I tried my hardest not be grouchy and be helpful.
Anyways, go to the below link to see a bunch of pictures, around 77 to be exact!!
