I am so excited!! After saving for almost 2 years all of my money from birthdays and holidays I had enough to buy a Canon Rebel T3i DSLR camera. I did a lot of research and although there are way better cameras out there I figured that I will learn how to work this one before upgrading.
I still have no idea what I am doing but I had fun snapping some shots yesterday, I love the quality already!!

Practice makes perfect
Mason still hasn't gotten the hang of this walking thing. However, he LOVES walking with his lightening mcqueen walker toy.

12 Months (incredibly late)
I love how this shows how far you have come in a short year! Love you sugar bug!
Oh my Mason Darrell Davis, the day is here that you are one years old. I have both looked forward to and dreaded this day. You are now a toddler not a baby, and yet I will always refer to you as my baby. You have changed our life through the better and although we have had many challenging moments you are such a perfect baby and we couldn't ask for anything more. We are so excited for the future that God has in store for you and we pray daily for you and what that may be.
Here are the highlights of this month:
~This month you and mommy went to San Diego to see Uncle Logan's graduation from Marine boot camp. This involved your second plane ride which was quite the adventure for mommy. Daddy left one of his pocket knives on the stroller and mommy got grilled by TSA. You'll have to ask me about it sometime. During this trip we also got to go to Disneyland which you actually enjoyed. Some of the rides like the chew-chew train made you laugh and grin from ear to ear. You also enjoyed the parades and would just stare off at all the sites. This trip makes me excited to take you back with daddy when you are a bit older!
~Dancing to music is something fun you like to do. We also can say "go Mason go Mason go Mason go" and you will twist back and forth.
~Standing fool, you love holding onto everything and showing off these new skills.
~putting blocks in dump truck, trying to stack them
~Talking a lot more, especially some new sounds.
~Engineered your box escape (future houdini??) We set up a box to keep you in the living room that had a little opening. I told daddy there was no way you could get out. It took a while but your persistence paid off and you squeezed yourself out.
~Birthday photoshoot, not as smiley, wanted to crawl off everywhere which drove mama nuts! It was especially hard since I didn't have extra hands.
~Everybody wants you to stay in North Bend instead of moving with us. You have a bazillion offers of living with others.
~When you "helped" mommy pack you started pulling everything out to the best of your ability. You also try to put your toys in any boxes you come across.
~You love hanging upside down. Your mouth opens and you squeal in delight.
~You know how to click your tongue when we do. You don't even have to watch us, you just hear it and do it back.

1st Birthday Party
One of the hardest things about moving away right before his birthday was not getting to have the party I was dreaming up in my head with all the people who have supported us during the past year of his life. Instead, we had a family birthday party and honestly it went very well. Many memories were made to share with Mason as he gets older because as I know, he won't remember anything about it at all. The theme we went with was "Brown Bear, Brown Bear" as that is Mason's favorite book so we went with a multi-color scheme that went with the book.
Mason wasn't very happy to be in his high chair without food, little did he know a cake was coming!
The Decor
More of the decorations
Gold fish, Brown Bears, Green Frogs
Mason playing with Mamaw and Aunt Sarah
The boys enjoying a hot dog lunch!
Mason's air force ones just like papaw.
Mason actually did a great job opening presents.
He LOVED this car!

At first he was incredibly unsure and was just eating the frosting.
Then daddy showed him to eat it..
And it was love!!!!!
He really enjoyed it and luckily it was healthy (mostly). I made the cake with wheat flour, carrots, seasoning, and sugarless applesauce. The frosting was cream cheese whipped with melted chocolate to make it brown and he loved it!!
Cousin Grayson was showing Mason how to bounce on his bed.
Our party craft was do it yourself plates, what fun!

Birthday Boy
Yesterday was Mason's 1 year birthday. I can't believe how fast that happened! Here are some pictures from his birthday photo shoot we took a couple of weeks ago! Please excuse the gazillion of pictures!
This picture cracks me up, it is like he is greeting "his people"
