These are the moments...

These are the moments I will remember, the moments I've been looking forward to! My kids choosing to play with each other and love on each other without parental motivation!

I love hearing them play with each other, and giggle together, I'm finally able to be more productive as I have more time without having to play constant companion. They actually have little conversations with each other as well. Molly gets so sad when bubba chooses to play in his room or is napping. She comes to me and asks where he is and when I tell her his room she says sadly "get bubba, door locked" which just means that his door is shut and she can't get in.

I will say that the only downside is that with playing, comes arguing, but hey I hear that the arguing will only last for the next 20 or so years so I better get used to it huh! ;)

Kid Free Trip

It was time,

Time for us to leave the kids behind, time to sleep in, time to not have to change diapers or answer a bazillion questions.

We journeyed to Colorado Springs for the National Convention on Youth Ministries. It was nice to be able to get away with each other and recharge....however, we forgot how exhausting it is to listen and be a student all day!

We were so excited to see what our rental car was, only to discover that we left our mini van behind to rent a mini-van. Wohoo (not)

I had dreams of sitting by a fire sipping coffee and reading. I did it! But not quite as often as I had wanted. The whole attending a conference thing kinda got in the way ;)

We ate soooo much while we were away. Seriously like all we did was eat. And it was delicious!

What a blessing to be surrounded by so many people who are in the same ministry as you.

The last event was a lunch together, I seriously think this is a bit of overkill for a bunch of youth ministers who are the least fancy people ever. We all joked around with what we should use first!

When the conference was over we were touristy and went to the Olympic Training Center! Go Team USA! It was really cool being able to see the facilities where so many of our olympians train. We were within feet of some olympic wrestlers and Carter was secretly so excited. He could name and tell me stats of at least 4 of them!

We also visited Garden of the Gods. We originally wanted to hike/walk through it but of course it snowed the day we had been planning to. I know we could have done it in the snow but come on now....it's freezing and wet ;)

In all, it was a great trip, but I was ready to get home to my babies. A huge shoutout to Papaw and Grams for watching our kiddos, Papaw in particular for taking a week off of work to be with them while Grams was working!
