New Book

I have heard fantastic things about this series and I'm excited that it is now in from the library and currently in my possession. I'll let you know my opinion once done!!

We are Boring

I feel bad that this blog doesn't get posted on more. I always think about it and feel the sense of dread that I haven't touched it for days...however, our life is boring. Our typical day consists of wakeup, work, dinner, tv, sleep, then repeat. Nothing terribly exciting happens at work and usually anything worth writing about at my work falls under the confidentiality thing so I can't post it and I do have some pretty interesting stories though.

So, maybe I'll find soemthing to keep my regular on here. Anybody have any blogging challenges???

I don't want to be sick....

Yesterday Carter was complaining of a sore throat. Last night I felt it coming on. Today we are both sniffling and our throats are hurting (his worse than mine). We have held strong for almost a year, but could this be our downfall???



Is it bad that I secretly want to be sick so that I don't have to go to work and can spend all day cuddled in bed reading and watching movies????

Shore Acres

A few weeks before Christmas we took some youth kids to our local Christmas Light Extravaganza! Our local botanical garden which sits right above the ocean puts on a gazillion lights during the holidays which is very pretty to go explore. The downer was that it had been dumping rain all day and everything was soaking wet. However, it stayed a light drizzle for the hour we were there.

Christmas this year was spent with Amber's family in California. It was fun being with this side of the family for the Christmas holiday. The whole Russ clan was together and we got to meet with the Russ side family in Vacaville (the middle ground) for Christmas Eve dinner at Texas Roadhouse (yummy!! We miss this place from Oklahoma). It was nice being able to catch up with family who we don't get to see very often, Love you guys!!!

Happy Christmas Eve!

Once we got back from the restaurant my sister and I both had to buy a few more presents so at 8:20pm we headed to walmart just to find out that Wal-Mart was closed...what??? When does Wal-Mart ever close? So somebody told us that K-Mart was open so off to K-Mart we went. Now I know remember why we don't ever go there, #1 there is no rhyme or reason to the store, and #2 their selection is pretty miserable. However, we got the stuff we needed (after a few compromises) and headed back to watch "The Santa Clause" with Tim Allen.

Once we all rolled out of bed on Christmas morning we opened our presents and were excited about all our good stuff! My fav gifts were a beautiful necklace from Carter!!, and a GPS from my mom and dad! From the Davis' my faves were some goodies from Bath and Bodyworks and some money to add towards my new laptop fund (which I'm posting from right now!). Carter's favorite gifts were his Jacket from his parents, a Swiss army backpack from my parents, and the Rock Em' Sock Em' robots from me.

My sister hooked Carter up with a Red Robin gift card. Of course we ate there during our trip.

For Christmas dinner it was prime rib(delicious) , mashed potatos, rolls, and salad.

The siblings. We never managed to get a complete family picture (whoops). And yes my sister realizes her sweater is ugly.

No trip is complete with lots of eating out which we managed to do with a trip to Texas Roadhouse, Red Robin, Sonic, and In-and-Out. Maybe it's a good thing I don't live close to these places!!
