A Daddy's Love

In honor of father's day I want to write a post dedicated to how great Carter is with Mason. He is such a wonderful daddy and I love watching him interact with Mason. Carter would kill me for sharing this but at first he was unsure of babies, but now Mason has him wrapped around his little finger. When Mason is crying in bed and I am letting him cry a little longer, Carter is the one asking if he could go get him out. I love watching Carter "wrestle" with Mason and explain the different moves as if they are really happening. I could post about a gazillion other things showing what a fabulous daddy Carter is but then I would just be getting all sappy and nobody wants that. So here is to Carter, one fabulous daddy to Mason, and I hate to say that it will probably be even worse one day if we have a girl = )

8 Months

We love you so much sweet boy and are so proud of all the little baby things you do! You are getting bigger daily and although I am looking forward to you getting older I know I will miss the sweet little things you do now. You have had a very busy month but it was GREAT and full of wonderful adventures and new experiences! Can't wait to see what next month has in store, maybe some teeth?????.........

- Oh food, this month we are working towards just 4 bottles a day which means upping the solids a bit, but not too much. This month we started vanilla yobaby yogurt although you were a little unsure of the cold you ended up really enjoying it. We have also started baby food with meat which you also really enjoyed. Honestly, you just like food except avocados, or your puffs. It is hillarious watching you eat avocado as you basically gag yourself and make the most outrageous faces.

- Halfway through the month you began sitting up on your own. We felt bad because we think you may have been able to do it for longer but since we were on vacation we really didn't have the chance to try. Now you try to sit up and lean forward in your high chair and carseat. You love this new freedom of yours!

- Also on May 12th was the first time you were just chatting away with consonants. Your ba-ba-bas are adorable, however we can't wait until you say mama or dada. I joked around with your dad that I think I might just change my name to baba. However, the sounds you make sometimes make me think you are saying ber short for Amber but I know it's not.

-You conquered your first long vacation. We took you to the Pepperdine Bible Lectureships at the beginning of the month where we got to worship and learn with other Christians. This was also your first time in childcare, and being left with people we don't know. The college kids did great with you though and said you always did wonderful, we are so proud of you!! You also won the hearts of people around us with your smiles and laughter during different sessions. We also went to San Francisco where you got to ride on a train and trolley for the first time. You had no idea that anything was different but it was fun for us none the less!!

- Speaking of San Francisco, you went to your first MLB game. We joined your uncle Logan at Pac Bell park and you did great!! We got the special treatment since we had you with us and that was awfully nice!

- Heat rash was another thing we expereinced this month. You truly are an Oregonian and didn't know what to do in the 80 degree weather. This mommy kinda freaked out a little thinking it may have been hand foot and mouth disease from being in childcare, but after a few phone calls and lots of asking experienced moms, it was decided that the rash all over your body was just heat rash. It didn't seem to bother you, but this mommy felt so bad for you sweet baby.

- Your eyes are for sure brown but it is interesting because they have rings of blue on the outside.

-We are still going strong on cloth diapering, but when in disposables you are in size 3 now. You drink 6 ounces for 4-5 bottles a day and are eating 3 meals of solids. Each "meal" is about 2 ounces.
