Gold and Silver Falls

On Sunday we had our Life Group right after church because we were going on an adventure. The Kruse family invited us to their house out in the country for a yummy lunch(and some chasing chicken time) and then took us about 10 miles up river to Gold and Silver falls, a hiking place. It was a fun outing for us because although we only had 4 teens it was also a combination of 3 other families so that was fun!! The hike wasn't too intense but I sure felt out of shape afterwards! You hike up and first there is Silver falls which you look up too and then you continue on and there is Gold Falls which you look down on. It is incredible to see even more of God's Beauty and how peaceful such things are!

Chasing Chickens at the Kruse home

Get em Carter, Get em

I didn't catch this one, it was handed to me, but you know I'm a city girl when I am excited to hold a chicken!

Shane caught this one

It took Carter a while to catch this little rooster

Ross totin everyone around.

Approaching Silver Falls

Isn't it lovely?

Not exactly the best picture of us, but oh well.
That is Carter up behind the fall. I was not surefooted enough to climb up there.

This is Gold Falls.

Is this in my future?

One of the moms at A.F.T.E.R told me to check out this video because she said it was hillarious and so I did. And after watching the whole thing I realized that this could be us one day. What happens is something that I could totally see Carter (the manly man) saying to our possible potential one day son. After I showed it to him he totally agreed so now I figured I would share this video with you if you haven't seen it yet.

Chili Cook Off

Today we had a chili cook off after morning services. This was sponsored by the youth group to help raise money for the mexico mission trip that Carter and 7 teens will be taking this summer to Zorillo, Mexico. I somehow (okay, it's really because I'm the youth minister's wife) ended up being the one in charge of setting up everything and figuring out how things should go (which really is still new to me) so although I had some great help I was worn out by the time we got home at 2 and still hadn't even eaten because I didn't have time. We had 11 participants which was a MUCH better turnout then we had expected and we took donations and ended up raising $800!!!!!! This was a great start to our fundraising endeavors and we want to send a big THANK YOU to everyone who participated in any way!!!

I made a Chili that had bacon, spicy sausage, hot rotel, ground beef and chocolate in it. Yes I said chocolate. However, it wasn't as big of a hit as I had hoped but Carter liked it which is good since we will probably have it for leftovers sometime this week.
