7 Months

Oh sweet boy, these past 7 months have flown by so fast. I was just looking through some video of when you were a newborn and I don't know how you have gotten so big so fast. Your personality grows daily and you make daddy and I smile continuously. We love you more than we could have ever imagined and I feel as if that love grows more and more every day. You are a constant state of joy for us, although I will admit I have to remind myself that when you unexpectedly wake me up at 2am and then are up for an hour the night before the only day I work 8 hours : )  This month was pretty laid back compared to some of the others you've been around for, and boy did we enjoy it! Our days are spent playing, reading, and singing!! I can't wait to start taking you on "field trips" as you are beginning to become more aware and excited about all that is going on around you!

Some fun facts for this month!!

- You're little white dots which I assume are teeth are still there in 5 spots but the doctor says they aren't teeth. I think he may be wrong because what else would they be? However, recently your bottom right one is getting bigger which is apparent by your madly chewing on everything, and crankiness for no reason, plus your late night adventures which are way out of the norm for you!

- Halfway through the month you rolled from back to tummy and started to enjoy rolling on your blanket. By the end of the month you now like to roll off your blanket too but you won't go more than 3-4 feet off of it. We're just waiting for you to be rolling around the house as your mode of transportation.

- You started fruits this month and love them of course!! In fact you loved them so much that for almost 2 weeks after starting them you refused to eat any of your veggies. After the first bite you would raspberry blow them out and then clamp those little lips of yours shut. It was so funny and frustrating at the same time. You now eat green beans, peas, sweet potatos, butternut squash, carrots, yams, bananas, apples, pears (your fav!!!) and avocado.

- We gave you your first puffs and you don't really know what to do with them. You also got started on a cup and although it took you a week to figure out how to get anything out, you love playing with it! You LOVE LOVE LOVE drinking water from it. I am so glad we are starting this healthy habit early.

- We had to start using the word "no" for the first time this month. We used it when you were spitting out your food, and when you roll into our vertical blinds and pull on them before we can move you away.

- You have found your voice, sometimes you will just scream (in a good way) for minutes at a time. I'm not sure how you haven't lost your voice yet!!

Cousin Love

Carter's brother Clayton and his wife Sarah and their little boy Grayson (11 mos old yesterday!) all live in Vancouver, WA. We all really want the cousins to grow up close and we love getting together anyways so Sarah came up with the bright idea of meeting them in Eugene which is the halfway point for all of us. It is about 2 1/2 hours away and perfect for a day trip. We met a couple of Monday's ago and had a blast!

First we met at the mall and had fun looking around at some of the shops while switching babies to hold = ) and then we ate lunch at chili's (yummy)!! We then wanted the boys to be able to wiggle around, especially since Grayson is mobile and Mason had just learned to roll both ways at the time so we found this awesome park by the river! I was expecting it to be cold so I was so unprepared for the 70 degree weather and this mommy forgot sunscreen. Therefore, Mason didn't get to experience as much as he could have but it was awesome letting him have fun there anyways! It was his first time to go on a swing and the first push daddy got a little carried away so he didn't like it, but then he just thought it was the greatest thing ever!  It was also fun watching Grayson pull up on everything and be so full of energy. Watching the boys barely acknowledge each other makes us so excited for when they are older and they will wrestle and play all day.

We loved spending time with family and can't wait until they next time we all get together to play!!!

Aww how sweet.

Mason's first push on the swing.
Oh wait he likes it after all!!

It was incredibly hard getting this picture since Grayson is a crawler and Mason can barely sit up on his own.
